Hey everybody!

 

Hmmmmm, you’re probably wondering how fan fiction centering on Colonel Cameron Mitchell came to be on this site. Well, Robin and I are friends, and I’ve been a huge fan of her stories, and Renee’s, for a very long time. I had dabbled in writing stories before, usually centering on Daniel Jackson OR Jack O’Neill, but the original female character I created just didn’t seem to "fit". In my mind Daniel belongs with Casey, or Annika, and Jack belongs with Sam. It put a bit of a kink in my writing a PWP when my original character refused to fit in with Daniel or Jack because they were "taken".

 

Up front, I’ll admit I didn’t care for this Mitchell character on Stargate SG-1. I didn’t like the way they brought him in, changed the whole dynamic of the team, etc. So basically, I ignored him. One day, I ran across someone mentioning that Mitchell resembles Daniel. Personally I thought they had been imbibing, but curiosity got the better of me and I started searching for some pics. Sure enough, I find one of each character, in basically the same pose, same type of clothing, and I’ll be darned, yeah, they do kind of resemble each other. Looking at other pics of Mitchell, I start to realize that, hey, he’s kinda cute. Okay, he grew on me. The next thing I know, I’ve got a PWP going, and it just seems, well, right! Robin kept after me because she wanted to read it. At first I had no intention of sending it to her because, let’s face it, she’s an accomplished author, a damned good one, and her stuff compared to mine is like prime rib versus a can of ravioli. She’s persistent though, so I finally send it to her, and surprisingly she liked it! So did Renee—you could have knocked me over with a feather.

 

Well, Mitchell, being the persistent character he is, decides he wants a story written, not just the PWP. Ideas start popping up, scenes, and damned near drove me nuts until I sat down and started typing it out. Never fear—SG-1 remains intact; Mitchell takes command of SG-7. *Grin* It was like assembling pieces of a jigsaw puzzle, but it finally came together. Robin offered to put it up on her site and give me my own little corner. That just totally blew me out of the water. She’s been there for me every step of the way, rooting me along when I was moving at a snail’s pace, giving me a good kick in the fanny when I became so discouraged that I almost quit. You know you’ve got an awesome friend when she offers to put up Cameron Mitchell fan fiction on her Daniel Jackson fan fiction site!

 

So, here it is—the product of my twisted imagination. I guess I should say "products", since the Muse wouldn’t let me put the keyboard away. Technically "Karma" finishes up "Favors", and I probably could have written them as one story, but I’m afraid my brain would have succumbed to the stress of it all. If you’ve ever given birth, then you can relate when I say creating these stories ranks right up there with that in the effort category! The Muse continues to whisper, so I’ll see what else she has up her sleeve…
